The horizon is not a place. It is the line where two conditions agree to touch without becoming one.
The Horizon stands at that line. Maple on one side, cherry on the other, both drawn upward by the same light. The form is narrow because the horizon always is — a thin threshold between what is seen and what is still arriving.
The light source is exposed, not hidden. It does not dramatize. It simply marks the point where the two woods lean toward the same brightness. The piece asks you to look not at the object, but at the edge it creates.

The Horizon began with two scraps of wood left over from larger works. One maple, one cherry. I set them against a wall and noticed how the grain of each wood caught the same light differently. The piece grew from that observation: two vertical planes meeting at a slight angle, a single exposed bulb at the intersection. I kept the wiring visible because concealment would have made the piece too polite. The horizon is not polite. It is the honest limit of what we can see from where we stand.
