Birth is not the beginning of form. It is the moment form recognizes itself.
The Birth rises from a single origin — one column of wood that has already decided to become something. The light does not fall on it. It emerges from within, as if the material itself had been waiting to be seen.
Maple and oak do not contradict each other. One carries the warmth, the other holds the structure. Together they make a form that is both tender and definite.
This piece is about the first gesture. Before movement, before speech, before the world has asked anything of us — the simple fact of becoming upright.
N°01Studio note

The Birth came from watching light move across raw wood in the early studio hours. The form wanted to be vertical without being rigid. The maple gave it warmth, the oak gave it spine. I kept the surface close to the tool marks because birth should not look finished. It should look like the moment just after becoming. The integrated light source was placed low, as if the ground itself had released it.
