THEINTERVAL

Two figures. One field.

One radiates blue, electric, expanding outward. It imagines, questions, reaches beyond its own limits. The other emanates deep red, contracting, drawing inward. It unites, grounds, transforms existence into presence.

Neither represents good or evil, masculine or feminine, strength or weakness. They are two principles found across every culture, every philosophy, every law of nature. Expansion and contraction. The force that transcends and the force that embodies.

The sculptures themselves are not the work.

The work is what exists between them.

In Japanese aesthetics, Ma describes the living interval, the charged space between two forms where meaning is born. Not absence. Not emptiness. The precise condition from which all experience emerges.

When you walk between these two figures, you enter that field. Your presence completes the installation. For a moment, the body becomes the bridge between two complementary forces, neither one nor the other, but the dynamic relation that makes both possible.

We are not expansion. We are not contraction.

We are the interval.

The place where light becomes matter, and where matter remembers the light.
